Leaf Springs

The ordering process is very easy. The quality of materials are very high.

It's hard to get a tight fit on a window screen without using these and they are priced better thru QSC, just like all of the other screen parts.

I only used these once, and the original frame did not use leaf springs, so maybe I used them inappropriately.

Advantages: Don't have to drill holes, saving time and structural integrity

Disadvantages: They scratch the screen frame and window frame during screen insertion and removal
Even fully compressed they add to the width of the screen frame, making insertion and removal harder than screen plunger bolts

It is so hard to find these leaf springs and they always seem to disappear. We have a couple of homes and cabins and there always seems to be a few missing, but not any more.

Advantages: Buying by the box is more economical and much more convenient. A real time saver

Disadvantages: Really see no drawbacks
